About
With the Port of Lewiston 365 miles inland, all major modes of transportation are available to Port shippers to route their products globally and still remain competitive in the marketplace.

They navigate through the eight dams and navigation locks on the Snake and Columbia Rivers. Tugs move 4-5 barges together through the locks; each barge holds 80-160 TEUs. Barging time to Portland from Lewiston is approximately 50 hours.

Rail
A feeder line of the Great Northwest Railroad provides the Port with a direct link to the main lines of the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads.
